About & Traditional Use

Soursop leaves, known in Spanish as hoja de guanábana and also called graviola, come from the soursop tree grown across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia. The dried leaves have a mild, earthy aroma with a soft, green-tea-like flavor.

Our soursop leaves are dried and cleaned, ready to steep. They have long been prepared as a simple herbal infusion, enjoyed hot or chilled, on their own or lightly sweetened.

How to Use

To brew an infusion, add 2 or 3 dried soursop leaves to a cup or small pot. Pour over hot water just off the boil and steep 5 to 10 minutes, then strain. The cup is mild and earthy with a light green flavor. Sweeten with honey, add a slice of lemon, or serve over ice for a refreshing tropical drink.

Recipes

Classic Guanábana Cup: Steep 3 soursop leaves for 8 minutes, strain, and sweeten with a little honey.

Iced Lemon Soursop: Brew a strong batch, chill, and serve over ice with lemon slices.

Tropical Mint Blend: Combine soursop leaves with a few dried mint leaves for a cool, fresh infusion.
